Two things that you might not know about contact lens

If you wear contact lens on a regular basis, you might have the below quesitons in your mind.

CAN I SLEEP WITH MY CONTACTS IN?

Most contact lenses are not for overnight use due to increased risk of eye inflammation or infection, which could harm your vision. Though there are contact lenses specifically designed for overnight wear, they are only approved in particular cases

To prevent eye infections and inflammation, Dr Chiu recommends wearing your contact lenses 5-6 days a week for approx. 8-10 hours per day, giving your eyes a 1-2 day break to recover and allow more oxygen to the eye. Contact lenses have numerous advantages, but can cause significant vision and eye health issues if used incorrectly.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A CONTACT LENS ASSESSMENT?

An annual eye health and contact lens assessment is recommended due to risk of eye infection, poor oxygen exposure to the eye and other conditions that can cause contact lens intolerance.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE IRRITATION OR PAIN IN YOUR EYES, REMOVE YOUR CONTACT LENSES IMMEDIATELY AND CONTACT US TO BOOK AN ASSESSMENT
