Two things you can do to slow the growth of Cataracts!

June is Cataract awareness month and while there are no known ways to completely prevent cataracts altogether, there are things you can do to help slow their growth.

  1. Wear sunglasses YEAR ROUND that protect from UV rays when you spend extended periods of time outdoors.

  2. Eat foods that are high in antioxidants. These include small red beans, blueberries, pecans, apples, prunes, red berries and dark green veggies.

Unsure if you have cataracts? A comprehensive eye exam with your Optometrist can help determine if you have cataracts. Consider booking your next Comprehensive Eye Exam with Dr. Sandra Chiu. Book your appointment online by clicking here or call 519-832-2020.
